A pair of house slippers. I was real young, around 5 yrs. old and I remember mom and dad talking about money because dad was on strike. They were talking about Christmas, what with no money how they were going to buy for Christmas. I still believed in Santa Clause, so I thought they were from him. I would put them slippers so neatly under the bed, I was so proud of them.

When I was in middle school, my parents got me a kitten. He’s still my best friend!
My high zoom Sony Camera. It is between a point and shoot camera and a DSLR. I was convinced that my husband had gotten me more of my fine china. I thought it was a large serving bowl or something and I was really excited. He made me open it last and I was completely shocked when I found the camera. It was only our second married Christmas. I wasn’t expecting the camera at all and I had really wanted one because I LOVE to take pictures and our camera at the time was super slow and rarely got a good shot. It is still one of the best surprises I have ever received.
My Nook Color. That thing has paid for itself many times over!

A bike I got when I was just a kid.
I remember the Christmas when my maternal grandparents managed to gather all of their kids and grandkids together for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There was usually one or two families that had somewhere else to be, so it was always very difficult to get us all together at once. At that time it was their nine kids and twenty grandkids. We all went to the midnight service except grandpa, who stayed behind to “have a chat with Santa.” We came home to a toy pile so large that it filled the living room and spilled into the dining room. There were brand new bikes for every grandkid under the tree. Us kids spent Christmas morning riding our bikes through town in the snow. It was wonderful… and the last time we got together like that.
