Campbell’s #SkilletSauces Review

November 18, 2012 by Pam Maynard

Campbell’s Skillet Sauces are available in six (6) great-tasting varieties:

  • Creamy Chipotle with Roasted Corn & Black Beans
  • Marsala with Mushrooms & Garlic
  • Thai Green Curry with Lemongrass & Basil
  • Toasted Sesame with Garlic & Ginger
  • Fire Roasted Tomato with Red Bell Peppers & Chiles
  • Scampi with White Wine & Garlic

Ready in just 15 minutes, with three easy steps:

    1.  HEAT.  Heat oil in skillet over medium/high heat.
    2.  ADD.  Add your protein or vegetables and cook until browned.
    3.  STIR.  Stir in sauce and heat to boil. Reduce heat and cover for five minutes or until protein is cooked through and/or vegetables are tender.
My Review:
My son Chose Creamy Chipolte with Roasted Corn and Black Beans.  It was super easy to make.  I actually used a large can of chicken breast chunks instead of fresh chicken.  (I was going to SUPER Easy route)  So, there was no frying/sauteing chicken on my part.  I added the package of Creamy Chipolte sauce to the chicken and heated it until it boiled.  I covered it and reduced the heat to low for 5 minutes.  I didn’t add any extra corn or any other vegetable, but I think I definitely will next time. It would have been even better with more corn or beans!  I did add some shredded cheddar cheese at the end.  Everything is better with cheese!
I love how you can cook the main part of the meal in one pan.  It’s also so convenient that it is ready in less than 15 minutes!  It may take longer for your rice or pasta to cook then it does to make the Campbells Skillets!
My hubby loved it!  I know when he likes new things I make, that they will be repeat offenders another night!  I liked it, but I am not one for that Spicy Chipolte taste.  My son liked it because he DOES love that spicy Chipolte taste.  I think it would have been better over rice, but my son wanted pasta.  We had it over very thin spaghetti.
I can’t wait to try the Chicken Marsala!  My son hates mushrooms so I am saving that one for a lunch or dinner that we have by ourselves.  yes, once in awhile we do have a kid-free meal.
