About the Book:
This book was developed as way to help children to learn their colors, shapes, and numbers. The unique characters of this book were conceptualized as each having a shape, color, and number so that children can see these concepts together. Each character is introduced with their shape, color, and number. There are also a number of objects on each page to practice counting. The hope is that this book will make learning these concepts fun, engaging, and easy for your child.
My Review:
This is another one of those books I wish had been written when my son was younger! He is 10 now and read it out loud to me the other day and loved it. My little guy is so funny. Not only does he love to read, he also loves to read to his first grade buddy. He thought The Kaleidoscope Kids would be perfect for his buddy reading time!
I love the fun rhyming pattern and whimsical illustrations. The Kaleidoscope Kids are on a mission to help kids learn their numbers, colors and shapes all while having fun. Learning isn’t hard when The Kaleidoscope Kids are around- in fact, it’s mostly just fun! The book is a very positive , upbeat story that will leave your children asking for more. There is nothing wrong with having trouble learning new things. This book teaches kids to get creative to learn new skills. I know when my son first started having spelling quizzes, he could recite the letters back to me, but since he was a visual learner, he actually had to write them down or use scrabble tiles to make his words. That was a big hit, using the tiles really helped him see how the words looked and we talked about syllables at the same time.
I love how these colorful kids aren’t there just to help kids learn. They are also there to be their friend. Kids love to hear that learning, fun and friendship all go hand in hand. I think this book would be an excellent resource for preschool and kindergarten and home schooling families.
Mom Does Reviews gives The Kaleidoscope 2 big thumbs up! I highly recommend this fun book for kids ages 2 to 6. It will help out those eager early learners as well as the reluctant older readers.
