I love the spring. Truth be told, I always look forward to those tell-tale early signs; daffodils and their sunny little heads bravely poking out from that dreary, frozen winter turf. Dew instead of icicles in the morning and of course, the new looks for the warmer months to come.
But what if this spring is also coincides with your first pregnancy? Don’t fret, you won’t be relegated to baggy muumuus of yesteryear, as a matter of fact, maternity fashions today are a far-cry from your grandmother’s maternity wardrobe.
Let’s take a look at some upcoming looks for 2013:
- Online Comfort and Convenience: During your pregnancy your body will go through many changes, not to state the obvious about your expanding belly, but also in other areas you might not quite be prepared for. Having to visit the bathroom frequently is inconvenient and a bit cumbersome if you’re wearing a lot of layered and complicated clothing. At times, that little bun in the oven, will cause you too, to be overheating like a proverbial stove top, so the necessity to strip off all extraneous material in the quickest means possible is imperative. Yes, pregnancy has its little quirks, but when you’re dressed to the tees in comfort and fashion forward looks, it makes all those other little tedious things seem irrelevant. By shopping for spring fashions online can also help keep those swollen ankles to a minimum, after all, you won’t have to fight the mall crowd, you can simply prop those aching feet and spend hours surfing in the convenience of your own home.
- Maternity Swimsuits: With the warmer months, come those summer fashions, including bathing suits. If spring and summer coincides with your last trimester, you’ll be glad you spent time looking for a bathing suit, especially when floating in a pool of soothing water is the only way to relieve your sciatic nerve. If you’re worried about how to size or chose the right look for you, don’t worry, you can log on to a site like Seraphine Maternity and a friendly associate can walk you through the entire sizing process. Clothes are cleverly designed for every stage of your pregnancy, whether you’re four months or nine months (or overdue) you’ll be able to feel comfortable and confident in your selections.
- Shoes: Sometimes with that burgeoning belly getting all the attention, it’s easy to forget about other important fashion items. Footwear would definitely fit the bill here, again, comfort is key. Those toes will relish the open air in a pair of cute and supportive sandals that can give that top-heavy pregnant woman the extra stability she needs especially when she made have a tired toddler in tow. Keep feet in mind when you’re considering your spring wardrobe. The last thing you want are shoes that put even more pressure on those tender toes and swollen ankles. Comfort and support (and well, some cuteness, too) can help alleviate some of those symptoms when those dogs are dog-tired.
At the end of the day, enjoy your pregnancy and your fashion sensibilities. After all, you won’t be pregnant forever, but during the course of your pregnancy wearing clothes that enhance that already radiating pregnancy glow will not only help keep your spirits up, but will keep you mind on other tasks at hand; namely growing a healthy baby.
