As parents, most of us are bound to have been through, or will go through, at least one picky eater phase during our children’s youngest years, or perhaps even as they enter the tween years.
John and Anne Newsome’s Story
My husband is a professional Chef trained through the prestigious Culinary Arts program at Johnson and Wales University. His expertise came in handy in a tremendous way as we dealt with picky eating and other issues arising out our son’s earliest years in an orphanage.
THE PICKY EATER CHALLENGE IS UNIVERSAL
While our experience was extreme, we know other parents are dealing with very similar challenges on a daily basis, from everyday ordinary moms like myself to the famous moms like Bethenny Frankel.
This is how What to Cook for Dinner for Picky Eaters was inspired. In this eBook, we share recipes, resources and tips from our own experiences and even from our family Nutritionist to help other parents through these meal time challenges.

My Review:
I always say this when I find something that I love- Where was this book 8 years ago when my son was a picky eater? I enjoyed What to Cook for Picky Eaters! The introduction itself contained valuable info for new parents and parents of older children like me. It is so important to let your children snack between meals, as long as they are healthy snacks. My hubby disagrees with me on this one. He thinks that my son will “spoil” his dinner. Of course, if he eats 3 oreos, that would spoil his dinner. But I like to give him cucumbers, carrots and low fat ranch dressing to dip it in. Usually anything you can dip, my son loves it!
The recipes in the book are not only easy but will appeal to kids of all ages. My favorite recipe is the Kicke-Up Crockpot Cubed Steak. I know my son will love it and I love the convenience of using the crockpot for low stress cooking. I work outside the home, so crockpot recipes for picky eaters are a dream come true. I am going to make this one on Sunday!
Another point that Chef John made was to try cooking veggies different ways. While my son hates cooked carrots, he loves them raw or if they are in a crockpot recipe.
I highly recommend this eBook to any parents- even if your kids aren’t picky eaters. It’s always great to have new kid-friendly recipes!
