There are few things that all of my children can agree on. Two of which is the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters. I love Roarin’ Waters because it doesn’t contain artificial colors. This reduces the risk of staining clothes and carpeting if/when little hands have accidents. (We have lots of little hands around my household so I need all he help I can get!)
Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters is a lightly fruit-flavored water beverage with only 30 calories per serving. We enjoy them most on car trips and anytime our little ones need to stay hydrated*; outdoor play almost always includes Roarin’ Waters pouches from Walmart.
Right now we are preparing for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in a few days. I challenged my oldest kids to come up with something we could do with Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters just for the event. My daughter suggested freezing our pouches, cutting off the top, and enjoying a yummy frozen pop.
Of course, her idea was brilliant, tasted great, and was easy. I couldn’t stop there. I had to make it easier for the toddlers to enjoy, and “pretty” for both of my teen/tween girls.
We agreed that Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters shaved ice was a much better option than her original method. Shaved ice means our little ones can enjoy it with a spoon easily and can still be given a straw near the end to enjoy the melted juice. The great thing about our Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters shaved ice is that the flavoring can’t be separated from the ice like traditional recipes.
Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters Shaved Ice
Ingredients:
- Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters
- Favorite Fruit to garnish
Directions:
Freeze Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters pouches. It is best to remove them from their box to allow all of the pouches to be thoroughly frozen.
Wash and prepare fruit.
Cut tops off of Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters (fight the urge to eat them directly out of the pouch).
Place frozen Roarin’ Waters into your blender or mixer.
Continue to crush until ice is free of chunks.
Serve in a bowl or shallow cup, garnished with your fruit, with a spoon and straw.
The Kids’ Choice Awards is being held on March 28th at 8pm ET
