Mrs Frizzle is at it again! Seat belts Everyone!
Mom Does Reviews and a few awesome bloggers are excited to host this slimy giveaway sponsored by The Young Scientists Club!
Get Ready to Experiment!
Ms. Frizzle and her students take Young Scientists on a wild ride with The Magic School Bus as they explore slime and polymers. Young Scientists take polymers out of milk, make slime, create goop, produce a snow eruption, melt snow, grow super-absorbent flowers, germinate seeds in polymers, perform a polymer trick, dehydrate polymers, and much, much more! This gooey bus-shaped kit comes packed with science components, 20 colorful experiment cards, a data notebook to record observations, and 10 containers of polymers including super balls, rainbow beads, snow, and gel crystals.
What’s not to love about the Magic School Bus and Mrs Frizzle? This Magic School Bus Slime and Polymer Lab kit is filled with hours of fun experimentation. Mrs Frizzle takes her “students” on many journeys from taking the polymer Casein out of Milk, making slime, goop, making and melting snow and even making polymer for plants and seeds. Not only are these experiments fun, but my son and I both learned something. We only did the first 2 experiments. Just reading through the directions on cards and documenting our findings was a great learning experience. My son loves science and they are learning about hypothesis and proving why it was right or wrong. We used that method of documentation during the experiments.
My son’s favorite part was the end of the experiment, where he saw that milk did have a polymer in it. He loved learning about polymers and we actually had to look things up online to find out some answers that I didn’t know. There are 20 laminated cards with experiments and more on them. They are easy to follow and it is great that they are laminated so they can just be wiped off when sticky fingers touch them. My son can’t wait to do the Superball experiment and the Snow Eruption! I’ll make sure to get ready for some more messy fun!
We both give The Polymer Lab kit 5 out of 5 stars! This would make a perfect gift for that science lover in your life. It is recommended for ages 5 and up. I think it is better suited for kids 6 to 12. It does have a lot of reading and comprehension that a 5 year old may not understand.
