Posh play mats are designed by moms to be used in our everyday life with our little ones. Their play mat can be used indoors, outdoors, as a rug, as a eating mat, as a blanket…lots of possibilities!
“All Posh Play products are PVC free…with detailed attention to style, function, durability, quality, and safety for your child. Heirloom pieces grow with your family. Completely wipeable. Completely cool.”
Outdoor Use:
Well, wouldn’t that be obvious? “It’s a play mat, surly you use it outside, correct?” Not so much. Last week we had snow and I thought it would be a great idea to take it outside for the wee one to sit on while we watch the big kids play in the snow. Nope! she couldn’t have been more disinterested. I couldn’t get a single picture of her sitting on it because the moment I put her down she was gone!
What I can say is: it was easy to wipe the wetness from the snow away from the underside and the moisture didn’t come through to the top of the mat.
Indoor use:
It is a great place to change a diaper in the middle of the day. With the floors being cold during the winter, it is a great barrier between little bums and the cool hardwood laminate flooring.
My little ones enjoy sitting and eating on their on spot on the floor. If they are expecting a snack, we ask them to “go to the mat” and they head right over, sit, and wait for their treat.
My toddler son uses it as a dance floor, stage, his play island when he is playing his video games, and a wrestling arena when he and his daddy are pretending to be the Avengers.
What Mommy Thinks:
I am disappointed that the travel bag provided with this mat is similar to a freebie I could pickup at any expo! I think consumers would enjoy a “with or without option” if a matching tote was offered instead.
My initial reaction was that it was much too heavy to be used as an outdoor play mat. I wouldn’t want to carry it around for long periods of time, on a hike, or for something of that nature. Having since used it… I have a much different opinion.
Being heavier weight than the average play mat makes it more durable. This means it doesn’t shift when being used on the floor. This makes the mat much safer for indoor use. Lightweight blankets on tile or hardwood flooring can be a dangerous situation instead of a helpful one. I am not concerned about leaving our play mat on the floor for their use in a “rug manner”
I love that I don’t need to wash this play mat. Spills and accidents can easily be cleaned with a soapy wash cloth instead of being added to my laundry pile! One less thing to launder equals success in this house!
I don’t mind leaving it out to be seen by others. The color is beautiful and the style is something that should be shown off.
This is not the play mat that gets shoved in your spare diaper bag and left in the car!
This is the play mat that is always in use and the usefulness of this mat is unlimited!
