Everything I know I learned from my cat: When you’re hungry, eat. When you’re tired, nap in a sunbeam. When you go to the vet’s, pee on your owner. – Gary Smith
Why would anyone want to learn the true nature of cats??? Purina has invited me to take a journey with them to discover the true nature of cats.
It starts with switching my kitties over to Purina One SmartBlend. We got the Salmon and Tuna blend and it has been well received. The switch was pretty easy once I was able to find the canned food. My cats do drink water from the big water bowl in the kitchen, but they LOVE canned food. When I feed our dogs, they know it’s their time to get canned food.
I did switch their food bowl over to the Tiger Diner portion control food dish. They are having fun with it but I think the dogs like it more since they get to eat the stray kibbles that land on the floor.
We have started devoting time for play when my son gets home from school. He loves to make Love Sponge play with the feather toy! We actually have a space in his room that is going to be a kitty playground. Stay tuned for more information and pictures next week.
Over the last week, my husband and I have noticed how much more affectionate Happy Cat is. He throws himself on top of us when we are watching TV in bed. He has made a new nightly ritual of getting unlimited attention at bedtime. He rarely bothered with us much before. He has always loved a good scratching behind the ears and petting, but he never came looking for it until this last week.
I know I want to learn more about what my cats are thinking and why they do the things they do! I want to know why there are so many myths about cats that really aren’t true. I hope you all are excited too.
Cats are wonderful pets and I have never been without one longer than a few weeks. They are wonderful stress relievers, lap warmers and nap companions. Unfortunately, our third kitty- Hello Kitty- has been missing for a week. If he doesn’t come home, I hope he has found a new home that will love hims as much as we do.
