Hitstory Kids- Columbus Sails App #Review

November 6, 2013 by Pam Maynard

About the App:

HitStory Kids is an app that will guide toddlers in a fun and interactive way through iconic episodes of American History, where they will be magically introduced to characters, objects and symbols linked to historical facts.

The fun in HitStory Kids comes in many ways: the cute, the funny, the scary, and the amazing characters; tons of interactivity waiting to be discovered; the music and the ‘mission accomplished’ buzz the child feels when he or she reaches the final destination on the last screen. And the child will always have the company of a friendly character: Peekaboo Peet. He is a cheerful and curious hedgehog, a true explorer!

The child will have fun finding him within vessels, carts, beneath the sand, playing with monkeys and in many unexpected situations.

Hitstory Kids is a new fun app for toddlers that plants the seeds for things they will be learning later in school.  The graphics are amazing and colorful.  The music is fun and upbeat.  I love the Hedgehog- Peekaboo Peet.  He is super cute!  And he is an explorer, maybe one of the first ones your child will relate to.   My 10 year-old son had a good time trying to find all the places that Peet was hiding so that it would fill the log book.

Look at the example of the graphics above.  How cute are the characters.  Everything is so upbeat and cheerful.  The characters are responsive to touch which will make the child keeps exploring until he reaches his final destination.

This is a great time to teach little ones about the boats, who was in them, what happened when they got here and more.  It’s a great tool to get your little ones ready for more.  I know if I had had exposure to history when I was younger, I might have enjoyed it more.

I highly recommend this fun app for toddlers who love to learn new things.  I give it 2 Peekaboo Peet Thumbs up!!  Wait, do hedgehogs have thumbs??  hmmm, I will have to do some exploring to find out!

Did i mention that the best part of this fun app is that it is FREE?  GO HERE to download it for your ipod Touch, iPhone or iPad!  Visit Hitstory Kids and find out when Going West will be released.
