This past Sunday, March 30 was Take a Walk in the Park Day, and Petmate sent us a few items for my dogs to try out. Since there is still 18 inches of snow on the ground, we didn’t actually make it to the park! But we still had fun with the toys and pop up tent anyway!
We received a big box full of fun toys and items to make Take a Walk in the park a pleasure, not a chore! I know sometimes we think that walking the dog is just a boring chore that needs to be done and checked off the list. But any walk with your furry friend can be so much more! My son and I try to walk at least 3 days a week and we always take our Border Collie, Marley, with us. Marley enjoys it so much, it would be a crime to walk without him.
Luckily, I really don’t have to worry about the “cleaning up” part of the walk. Marley rarely makes a stinky pile to pick up, he only spends his time sniffing and marking his territory and everyone else’s territory too. If I did have to clean up, the little bone shaped poop bag dispenser would be perfect for our walks. Not only did we get that bone bag dispenser, we got a plastic/rubber bowl that holds food or water and collapses to a smaller/flatter size when your pup is done with it. We also received a palm retractable leash. I usually don’t care for retractable leashes, but this is much easier to use and doesn’t make me want to curse, LOL.
Of course, our favorite things in the Walk in the Park Box are the Pop-Up Pup Tent and the ChuckIt! Tumble Bumper. We had the most fun with the Pop-Up tent- mainly because it was too small for Marley but my son insisted on getting in it. Once he got in, it took him 10 minutes to get out!
The ChuckIt! toy is Marley’s newest favorite toy! His big Chuckit Ball is his favorite. Justin practices his soccer moves with Marley in the kitchen. If he can keep the ball away from Marley, he can keep it away from anyone!
The Tumble Bumper is a unique toy from ChuckIt! that can be used as a float toy, throw toy or even just roll it down the stairs type of toy. We always love to watch our smart dog play ball with himself by dropping it down the stairs. This Tumble Bumper is so much more fun going down the stairs as it does as its name implies.
Overall, we love the Walk in the Park toys and accessories that PetMate sent us! We can’t wait for SPRING so we can actually use them ALL outside!
