Here are some super easy and fun donuts to make with your kids! These fun donuts are perfect for Halloween parties. Make them a highlight of the party by letting the kids make their own Monster Eye Donuts. They can make them silly or scary!
Halloween is almost here… time to get making those fun treats with your kids! If they like to make cookies, this recipe is super easy and fun. Make your Monster Eye cookies scarier with some white icing and red piping- to make the eyes look bloodshot. Or add more eyes, or just one- the
Ingredients :
Makes 15 doughnuts
Donut ingredients:
- 1 C flour
- 1/3 C sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 C + 1 1/2 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Donut Baking Directions :
Preheat your oven to 350 degree’s and spray a doughnut baking pan with pam baking spray
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter, and vanilla extract
Combine the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined
Spoon batter into the doughnut pan and bake for 10 minutes
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 6 minutes before removing and placing the doughnuts onto a wire rack
Repeat steps until all batter is used
Vanilla donut icing ingredients:
- 4 C powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp clear corn syrup
- 1/2 C whole milk
- 1 tsp clear vanilla extract
- Red and Black gel food coloring
- 2 disposable piping bags
Decorating ingredients:
- 1 bag of Orange candy melts
- 1 bag of Neon Green candy melts
Icing Directions:
Using a standing mixer, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk and vanilla extract and mix on medium to high speed until smooth and thick
Scoop about 1/4 C of the icing into 2 bowls
Add a few drops of red to one bowl
Add a few drops of black to the second bowl
Scoop the two icing’s into their own piping bag
Decorating directions:
Dip the donuts into the white icing and place onto a wire rack that way excess icing can drip onto the cookie sheet below
Place a candy melt onto the center of the donuts
Allow donuts to dry for 20 minutes
Using the red piping bag and pipe the veins onto the donuts
Using the black piping bag, pipe a pupil onto the center of the candy melt
Allow donuts to continue to dry for another 30 minutes before enjoying!
