I love making homemade treats for my furry friends and I haven’t heard any complaints from them yet! With homemade treats like these Tasty Applesauce Peanut Butter Dog Treats you know exactly what is in them and know they don’t contain any yucky ingredients! You can actually share them along with your pup however they are a little bland because of the missing sugar and salt. But, what can be better than fresh baked homemade treats?
If your pup loves frozen treats, especially good for this Summer, be sure and check out our woofalicious Frozen Strawberry Banana Dog Treats!
Yield: 50 assorted size dog treats (I used 3 different size bone-shaped cookie cutters)
- You can easily half the recipe if need be
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Flour (not as nutritional as whole wheat, but I use all-purpose)
1 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup All-Natural Peanut Butter (you can use regular but be sure there is NO Xylitol!)
3/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 cup Olive Oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer using dough attachment, combine all the ingredients except the olive oil.
Add the olive oil in a little at a time until the dough holds its shape.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough until approximately 1/4″ thick.
Cut with cookie cutters or you can also just cut into squares.
Place on a greased cookie sheet (or spray with cooking spray).
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until browned – ovens vary.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Let the pups enjoy!
Store in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or refrigerate.
