National Backpack Program- 14 years of Hope!
About the Office Depot Foundation
The Office Depot Foundation is an independent foundation − tax exempt under IRC Sec. 501(c)(3) − that serves as the independent charitable giving arm of Office Depot, Inc. In keeping with its mission, Listen Learn Care®, the Foundation supports a variety of programs that give children tools to succeed in school and in life; build the capacity of non-profit organizations through collaboration and innovation; and help communities prepare for disasters, as well as recovering and rebuilding afterwards. The sackpacks we donate are designed with kids in mind – they come in six different color combinations with kid-friendly graphics. You will not find the Office Depot Foundation’s logo anywhere on the sackpacks – except for a removable paper tag. We want to be sure that children are proud to carry the sackpacks they receive, with no risk of being stigmatized by something that clearly identifies it as an act of charity.
My review:
I love the so many companies are paying it forward to help children go back to school in style. You never realize how different other children’s lives are until you experience it first hand. Our son is 11 years old and an only child. There has never been a year that we couldn’t afford him a backpack for school. But, I know there are so many in our small town alone that can’t even afford an extra pencil case for their children. Office Depot Foundation sent me 2 sackpacks to review. I am going to donate them to the school tomorrow. We received this cool patterned purple and pink sackpack and a blue sackpack with stars. Each one comes with a zippered pencil case with the basics in it. I have been given many sackpacks over the years that serve as marketing for different companies. This sackpack is different. It is made out of the same heavy-duty fabric that high quality backpacks are made of. It has high quality cords for cinching and wearing as a backpack. It is roomy enough for a few books, lunchbox and more. The best part is that it doesn’t have a logo for Office Depot on it anywhere. Kids can use it without being labeled as a “charity case.”
We can’t wait to bring our sackpacks to our school to help out a few families that still need backpacks to help them have a terrific school year.
I highly recommend these sackpacks and the whole Office Depot Foundation. Did you know they have helped over 3.5 million kids since 2001?
