Bathtime Fun with Just Think Toys BathBlocks #Review #ChristmasMDR14

November 10, 2014 by Victoria

Getting my little ones into the bath is a chore, I do mean CHORE!  Especially my special one.  He is four, loves to look at water, is very fond of the ocean, but hates baths and showers and anything that may cause him to have water on his face.  The only thing I can do is offer him new reasons for him to hop in.

Bath Toys

Bath toys are more than just fun, they are helpful tools for parents who are struggling with their little ones to bathe.  Without bath toys to convince my toddler to take a bath, I feel helpless.  The aftermath of the unwanted cleaning involves several minutes of rocking and holding my child as he sobs uncontrollably.  He ultimately goes to sleep because the ordeal is so draining to him.  This is not what any parent wants to put their child through each evening.

We received two bath sets from Just Think Toys.  The first set we received was the Floating Cook Set.  The Floating cook set is perfect for little hands that are pretending to cook – just the right size and weight.  The strainer, ladle, and spatula are sturdy.  They have been very well used over the past couple weeks and still look new! The floating “stove” really floats and works very well even when it is loaded with “pots” and water.  While the cooking utensils also float, for some reason my little ones still don’t see them floating in the bubbles (we find this rather funny).

My biggest hurdle is keeping it in the bathroom.  My two AND nine year old girls are constantly running off with these toys.

The neatest toy we received was Ball Run.  “BathBlocks are made from bacteria and mildew resistant EVA and contain no PVC or phthalates.”  I also confirmed that they are flame retardant free. The pieces float AND stick to the shower walls.  My kids found sticking the blocks on the wall more entertaining than the ball run aspect.

On our first attempt to use the BathBlocks Ball Run we had trouble getting them to stick to our walls.  We explained to the kids that they needed to be sure they stuck them in a smooth place but it didn’t help.  I put in a quick inquiry to BathBlocks to see if we could get some tips for better sticking action and they said to be sure to follow the directions/diagram included with our package.  This meant we needed to use soapy water…

Using soapy water was initially a challenge for us because our little guy doesn’t like bubbles in his water.  I managed to turn this challenge in our favor instead.. “If you want the BathBocks to stick, you have to add the soap!”   I ask my little one to apply soap to the blocks with a soapy bath poof.  This is exposing him to bubbles, little by little.  I hope to eventually graduate to adding bubbles to the water directly. (Small steps)

2014 Holiday Gift Guide at Mom Does Reviews! The most anticipated event of the year!!!

BathBlocks from Just Think Toys make a perfect holiday gift for little ones because bath toys are often overlooked by gift givers.  Bath toys are always my go-to gift for little ones because I know I am likely the only person to gift them to a child at an event/holiday.  They are fun for the kids and a great tool for parents.  What could be more perfect?
