What to do with your PEEPS®! #PEEPSONALITY

April 2, 2015 by Victoria

I didn’t get a chance to do much with our cute PEEPS® yet because my kids prefer to eat them, not look at them.  That means I have to buy more already and it isn’t even Easter yet!

Each year we try to do something different with our PEEPS®.  One year I made a beautifully decorated pudding.  Another year we spent our Easter camping in the Keys so we opted for PEEPS® S’mores.  The PEEPS® S’mores is still my favorite recipe.  It has everything you love about a s’more but with the PEEPS® sugary sweetness on the marshmallow…. it is really good.  You have to try it to understand.  Bake them in the oven, you’ll love them!

Sweetened Milk Treat PEEPS

A few months ago I became fed up with the expensive milk stir-ins.  There are so many and they are priced really high.  After my kids went through a $4 bottle of milk flavoring in TWO DAYS I said “never again!”  Instead I decided to play around with extracts instead to make my own.  A big bottle of vanilla extract is less than $4 so that is where I started.

Sweetened milk or (Mama’s Milk, as my kids call it):

  • One glass of 2% Milk
  • 1 -3 tsp of Sugar (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Whipped Cream (optional)
  • Sugar Crystals/Sprinkles (optional)

Combine milk, sugar, and vanilla – stir.  If desired, for a special treat, top milk with whipped cream and sugar crystals.

My kids usually drink our sweetened milk without all of the extras, but for an after dinner dessert or a special treat, I top it with the whipped cream, sugar, and some sort of fun garnish… like a bunny PEEPS®.

Are you ready for me to ruin oatmeal for you?  Haha! That’s what my husband says I do.  I love oatmeal, but I have to have fun with it.  We buy the old fashioned oats, not the quick stuff, or the packets. That means we have to be creative with it to make it good.  Unlike my husband, I don’t look at those plain roll oats and think “mmmmmM…… good.”   I look at them and think… “What can I add to you to make you taste good?”

Victoria’s PEEPS® Oatmeal:

  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats, prepared
  • 1 tbsp Peanut Butter
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Molasses
  • White Chocolate/ Dark Chocolate Chips (Optional)

Prepare your portion of rolled oats, add peanut butter, brown sugar, and molasses.  Stir.  If you choose to, add a small handful of chocolate chips and a PEEPS® Bunny or Chick.
